Ragini Khanna to star in Rakyesh Omprakash Mehra’s Teen Thay Bhai. When she was asked for her opinion and she said she was jobless and will do the film.

She is best known for her role as Suhana in television show Sasural Genda Phool. But now Ragini Khanna will be seen making her debut as the female lead in Rakyesh Omprakash Mehra’s Teen Thay Bhai.

Khanna reveals that it was during a state of depression that she was signed on for the film. After an audition, when she was called for an interaction with Mehra, she was "neither excited nor nervous."

Ragini KhannaShe says, "My focus was on getting a good project". After being briefed about the film and the role, she was asked of her opinion and she remembers blurting out, "I am a jobless actor right now, I will do it."

Though she is a big fan of the director, Mehra, hasn’t seen a lot of her work. “I haven’t seen her show, but I have caught some of the promos which starred Ragini. She is very entertaining and has the innocence and spark we needed,” says Mehra.

The film also stars Deepak Dobriyal, Shreyas Talpade and Om Puri, and has been helmed by first-time director Mrigdeep Singh Lamba. “Though the story revolves around three brothers, Ragini’s part is integral. She shares great chemistry with her husband (Dobriyal) in the film,” says Lamba.

But Khanna asserts that she is not bidding good-bye to television just yet: “I don’t want to stick to one character. I would like to work on different roles and explore.”
