Censor board approves ‘virgin’ dialogue in Finding Fanny

On Friday, the team of Finding Fanny - lead actors Deepika Padukone, Arjun Kapoor and director Homi Adajania visited HT City to meet the winners of Stars In The City Contest.
While all upbeat about the film, they also lamented the Censor Board’s decision to delete Deepika’s ‘I am a virgin’ dialogue from the film.
Hours later, the Censor Board revoked its decision and cleared the dialogue. "The dialogue has been allowed now and will be used in the film," Leela Samson, Chairperson of the CBFC told us. In another interview Samson admitted that deleting the dialogue was a mistake.
"The filmmakers were justified in their request. It was a mistake which needed to be rectified. I took the necessary step," she said.
During his conversation with us, Adajania had said, "They said if you want a U/A rating, you need to cut out Deepika saying ‘I am a virgin’, and remove her back shots in the film. Ironically enough, they had given me a censor certificate for showing the same thing in the film’s trailer, but they cut it in the movie. When I asked what the reason was, they said, ‘
