Deepika Padukone and Amitabh Bachchan are set to clash at the box office with their films Padmavati and 102 Not Out.

Deepika Padukone and Amitabh Bachchan, who were seen together in 2015 comedy Piku, will battle it out at the box office on December 1. Deepika’s Padmavati is releasing much earlier than expected and will pose a big threat to Amitabh’s 102 Not Out.

Deepika Padukone’s Padmavati has already threatened a lot of films with its unexpected release date.
Deepika Padukone’s Padmavati has already threatened a lot of films with its unexpected release date.

The stars of Padmavati -- Deepika, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor -- revealed the release date and first posters through their social media accounts on Thursday, the first day of Navratri. Since then, quite a few films have started feeling the heat and shifting their release dates so as to not clash with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s latest epic.

102 Not Out had also piqued the audiences’ interest as it had Rishi Kapoor play a 75-year-old son to 102-year-old Amitabh. The two Bollywood veterans are uniting onscreen after 26 years.

Reports suggest Vidya Balan’s Tumhari Sulu, was also scheduled to hit the theatres on December 1 but the release was shifted to a week earlier, to 24 November, to avoid clash with Padmavati.

There were also reports that John Abraham and Diana Penty’s Parmanu will also suffer a re-scheduling.

Padmavati was being called the biggest film of 2018 and now that it is releasing this year itself, it is only expected that several other films will get anxious.

Do you think Padmavati will eat 102 Not Out whole? Or will the comedy survive?
