The makers of Kapil Sharma-starrer Firangi have released the film’s first song and it answers the questions audiences asked after watching the first trailer: what is the character Kapil is playing? And if he is a traitor? Firangi is a period film set before the Indian Independence.
The song shows Kapil Sharma as a simple man from a village who gets the job of an orderly in British India. The song, voiced by Sunidhi Chauhan and composed by Jatinder Shah, shows Kapil Sharma’s amazement when he enters the palatial houses in which English officers live.
He hasn’t seen such wealth in his life and is intrigued by the lavish life these officers lead.
The song also takes a glance at his love story with a simple girl, played by Ishita Dutta.

Kapil Sharma has faced some tough time recently after his mid-air fight with members of his show. Recently, his show also went off air and he had to check into rehab. Talking about it, he said at the launch of the trailer, “I got to realise that I drink everyday to escape my problems. So I have decided to reduce it.”
He also spoke about how he cancelled shows in the past. “I cancelled a lot of programmes; like recently I cancelled a programme for the BSF in Delhi. I really wanted to do a show for soldiers like this. When I started my show, I went to the Wagah border,” said the comedian at the launch.
Directed by Rajiev Dhingra, Firangi will be released on November 24, 2017.
