For every little girl anywhere in the world, her father is her first hero and idol. Bollywood stars are no different. At different times, actors such as Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone and Alia Bhatt, among others, have spoken eloquently about their fathers. On Father’s Day today, here’s going through all the wonderful things these girls have said about dads. Also, pictures and videos shared by them.

Deepika Padukone on Prakash Padukone

Speaking about her father, Deepika Padukone has been quoted by Filmfare as saying, “He is such a humble person and there is so much goodness in him that it all radiates. I don’t think my sister, Anisha and I could have asked for a better role model than him.”

Janhvi Kapoor on Boney Kapoor

A few days after the untimely death of her mother, Sridevi, Janhvi had penned a heartfelt note about the relationship she shared with her father, Boney Kapoor. She had written: “Preserving the sanctity of what they had would mean the world not only to my mother but also to a man who’s entire being revolved around her, and her two children who are all that remains of their love. Me and Khushi have lost our mother but papa has lost his ‘Jaan’.”

Priyanka Chopra on Ashok Chopra

“My dad was my best friend, my idol and my protector. He was the man of my life. I was very close to my father. He was my super hero, my idol. I wanted to grow up and be him. He was a musician. He used to perform on stage, he was a surgeon, he was an artist, and he was the life of a party.”

Alia Bhatt on Mahesh Bhatt

Speaking at the India Today Conclave, Alia Bhatt talked about the life lessons she has learnt from her father, director Mahesh Bhatt. “My father taught me there is always someone better than me somewhere. So never say that I have arrived. You rather be stupid rather than pretend to be intelligent. A lot of your energy is consumed when you explain it to this world that you know it all. You can conserve this energy and use it to gain true knowledge. True knowledge can be acquired by being on the threshold of ignorance,” she said.

Anushka Sharma, writing about her father Ajay Kumar Sharma on Instagram

“I couldn’t possibly be more like anyone as I am like my father. I wish every girl growing up gets to look up to a man like I got to with my dad. He taught me to stand up for myself and what I believed in and never allow anyone to treat me wrongly. My biggest inspiration comes from him and how wonderful this world would be if there were more men like you papa! I love you to the moon and back.”
