Deepika Padukone was born in Copenhagen, Denmark and raised in Bangalore. She is the daughter of badminton player, Prakash Padukone. She used to play national-level badminton until she was 13. She made a stellar debut with Farah Khan's Om Shanti Om in 2007 and won her the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut . She is one of the biggest and most sought after lead actors in Bollywood. She made a mark in the Hindi film industry with romantic comedies like Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and Chennai Express, and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Bajirao Mastani and Padmaavat. She is married to Ranveer Singh.
