Coronavirus: Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Deepika-Ranveer thank ‘heroes’

<p>Many celebrities were seen participating in a unique gesture to thank those at the frontlines in the battle against Covid-19. Bollywood personalities collected at their balconies and rooftops to clap for doctors and sanitation workers trying to stem the spread of the Sars-Cov-2 virus. Amitabh Bachchan, along with his son Abhishek and daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai Bachchan were seen clapping enthusiastically. Actors Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, Akshay Kumar, Hrithik Roshan, and Kangana Ranaut did the same. India has reported over 365 cases of Coronavirus infection so far.</p>

Watch: Deepika Padukone visits JNU to support students protesting violence

<p>Actor Deepika Padukone visited the Jawaharlal Nehru University on Tuesday. She offered support to students protesting against violence inside the campus on January 5, 2020. A masked mob had run amok at the varsity, targeting students and teachers, and vandalising public and private property. Padukone stood with the gathered students as they raised 'Jai Bhim' slogans. Other celebrities have also come out to voice their support for the students. A day earlier, film-makers and actors, including Anurag Kashyap, Zoya Akhtar and Taapsee Pannu had staged a protest in Mumbai regarding the violence.</p>
