Fukrey actor Ali Fazal in Fast & Furious 7

Ali Fazal of Fukrey fame, has become part of Fast & Furious 7. He has already shot for a portion of the film in Atlanta. “Yes, I have shot for a bit. And I still have some bits left. It’s just a cameo, but it’s great fun,” says Ali, who returned from the US on Saturday night.

Names like Deepika Padukone, Sonam Kapoor, Kangana Ranaut and Chitrangada Singh have surfaced in relation to the next Fast & Furious film. According to reports, Deepika was offered a role, but couldn’t take it up due to her busy Bollywood schedule.

Now, in what comes as a surprise, Ali Fazal of Fukrey fame, has become part of the Vin Diesel-starrer. He has already shot for a portion of the film in Atlanta. “Yes, I have shot for a bit. And I still have some bits left. It’s just a cameo, but it’s great fun,” says Ali, who returned from the US on Saturday night.

His scene, it seems, features all the main actors — Diesel, Paul Walker and Michelle Rodriguez. He will join the team again in Abu Dhabi in January to shoot the remaining scenes.

“I sent across (my audition) and I got a call. I was like, ‘Why not?’ Yet, initially, I was not going to do it since I was busy with my work in India. However, things worked out,” says the actor, who also has Hindi films like Baat Ban Gayi and Sonali Cable in the pipeline.
