Housefull 4 actor Pooja Hegde: Mohenjo-daro is something in the past, I’m so far away from it now

Actor Pooja Hegde talks about why she doesn’t want to think about her first film, Mohenjo-daro, which didn’t do well at the box-office, and juggling multiple projects at the same time.

Pooja Hegde will be seen next in Housefull 4.

Actor Pooja Hegde has her hands full and schedule packed with multiple projects that she is a part of. Besides her regional films, Pooja is shooting for Housefull 4, her second film, after Mohenjo Daro (2016).

On how tough it is to strike a balance, the actor says, “I sleep on flights these days. Once, I was able to rest only after 46 hours! More than anything, there are different characters I have to keep switching on and off. There’s the technical aspect of it. I go to the set and automatically go into that mode and become the character. Also, since each film is being shot at different places, so half the time is spent on recovering from jet lag.”

But she isn’t complaining. “I love my life. I think every film industry is the same, it’s just the characters which change. A Telugu girl might react in a different manner, so I need to understand the mannerisms of the place. People are people anywhere in the world,” says Pooja.

Mohenjo Daro, where she starred opposite actor Hrithik Roshan, despite having a great buzz, turned out to be a damp squib at the box- office. The film completes two years of it’s release (it released on August 12, 2016). On how that affected her as a debutante, Pooja reveals, “It’s something in the past, I am so far away from it now... I am only looking forward.”

But why didn’t we see Pooja in any Hindi films in the last two years? She explains, “With Mohenjo Daro, I was contractually bound... While it was being shot, projects lined up for the next one year had already been casted for... I had no godfather. It kind of holds you back, so going forward you have to be a little careful with your second film.”
