The usually dapper Saif Ali Khan transformed into a Naga sadhu for Hunter and his dreadlocks will remind you of Johnny Depp’s Jack Sparrow.

Saif Ali Khan’s look from Hunter is going viral.

After a much appreciated performance in Sacred Games, Saif Ali Khan is back to, what looks like, another gripping tale. According to a report in Mumbai Mirror, the actor was the spotted at Filmistan studio in Mumbai on Monday in the look of a Naga sadhu. The actor had earlier wrapped up the Rajasthan schedule of Navdeep Singh’s Hunter.

The story is about a sadhu (Hindu ascetic) who is out for revenge. Saif was spotted in the get-up of his character. However, with his dreadlocks (and perhaps much of his beard too), Saif’s look seems inspired more by Johnny Depp’s Jack Sparrow (Pirates of the Caribbeans) than an ascetic.

The choice of clothes too seemed pretty un-Indian—he can be seen wearing a red and black unbuttoned, waist-length jacket, a bandana to keep his dreadlocks in place and a pair of dhoti-styled churidaar. His eyes are lined with kohl. Saif had an angry expression on his face.

Talking about the film earlier, Saif had said in an interview, “It’s my most ambitious project till date. I don’t think I have been part of a film that has been made on this scale. It’s about a fight between two brothers and my character, who’s almost like an animal, fights for his rights.”

According to a source quoted by Mumbai Mirror, the actor was busy shooting an action sequence. The shooting began at 9 am and continued till late in the evening. Hunter, incidentally, also stars Mukkabaaz actor Zoya Hussain and Manav Vij.

It may be recalled that in Sacred Games, Saif appeared as a Sikh police officer, with a troubled past, who happens to find himself in the midst of an explosive crime scenario which involves Mumbai underworld, cops and Bollywood.

The web series has come as a breath of fresh air for Saif whose last few outings have proved to be disastrous—Rangoon, Chef and Kaalakaandi—all bombing at the box office.
