Actor Jimmy Sheirgill feels that he is not yet very savvy on social media. Though the 47-year-old has been present on platforms such as Twitter and Facebook since 2010, he admits that he is still not as active as his fans would expect him to be. Jimmy says that he is still trying to pick up the cool tricks of all these different platforms.

However, Jimmy, who made his Bollywood debut with Maachis (1996) and went on to do films, such as Mohabbatein (2000), Tanu Weds Manu (2010), Mukkabaaz (2017) insists that he has improved a lot on his skills of handling Twitter.

“Pehle se thoda toh improve kiya hai (I have improved to some extent). I know that improvement is about two to three percent, but still I’d like to believe that I have improved my social media skills. I definitely spend more time on it [now],” laughs Jimmy.

The actor feels that social media are a great way to be in touch with current affairs and connect with fans. “As an actor, you are out for shooting to [different] locations, where there is no access to what’s going on the world. You are so busy on your job that you actually don’t get any time to find out about the rest of the world. [In that sense], social media platforms are a great way to get the latest buzz. It’s the best way to interact with your fans as well,” says the actor, who prefers to read the comments on the posts rather than uploading a slew of photos from an event.

“I don’t know why but I just can’t [come to terms with] posting photos from a promotional event. I can post maximum one or two, but usse zada mujhse nahi. I love reading comments and reviews on movies. I spend a lot of time doing that. I find that interesting,” he quips.
