Kangana Ranaut won’t play Manyata in Sanjay Dutt biopic
Recent reports suggested that Rajkumar Hirani has approached Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut for his Sanjay Dutt biopic starring Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone.
Recent reports suggested that Rajkumar Hirani has approached Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut for his Sanjay Dutt biopic starring Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone. Refuting the rumours, Kangana said, “I don’t want to be disrespectful to Raju sir, but the truth is I have not been been approached for this film. I am busy on Rangoon at the moment.”

Reports claimed that Kangana was being considered for the role of Sanjay Dutt’s wife, Manyata, in the biopic.
Hirani’s film will touch upon every aspect of Dutt’s life - from the age of 17 till present. Speaking about choosing Ranbir for the role, the director had earlier said, “. “Ranbir is a great actor. And I am sure he will be able to do full justice to the role. For the film, he wants to put on weight, so that he can take up the journey (of the character) effectively.”
Ranbir Kapoor is set to essay the role of Sanjay Dutt in Rajkumar’s biopic on the actor.
Other films in the pipeline for Kangana are Hansal Mehta’s Simran, Lakshmi Bai directed by Ketan Mehta, Bosco Martis’ Circus and Amrita to be helmed by Shekhar Kapur.
