The Hunger Games

Genre: Sci-fi, action-drama

Synopsis: In a not-too-distant future, North America has collapsed, weakened by drought, fire, famine and war to be replaced by Panem, a country divided into the Capitol and 12 districts. Each year two young representatives from each district are selected by lottery to participate in The Hunger Games. These brutal televised games are broadcast throughout Panem.



The 24 participants are forced to eliminate their competitors, literally, with all citizens are required to watch. When 16-year-old Katniss’ young sister, Prim, is selected as the mining district’s female representative, Katniss volunteers to take her place. She and her male counterpart Peeta, will be pitted against bigger and stronger representatives who have trained for this their whole lives.

Synopsis: The film begins with a series of seemingly unconnected events, that take place all over the globe. In Uzbekistan, an ex-KGB Officer is tortured and murdered. In Cape Town, some business tycoons discuss a rumour that the dead KGB officer had a nuclear suitcase bomb hidden away. In Moscow, an Indian secret agent is exposed. He is shot dead while trying to send a code red message to India. In India, the head of RAW sees the incomplete message that only contains a number 242.



Soon, Agent Vinod enters the picture. Vinod is an eccentric agent whose approach towards his job is as unconventional as he is himself. This puts him in dangerous situations but he always manages to get crucial leads. He is sent to Moscow to investigate his colleague’s murder. There, he meets an elderly mafioso Kazan and the mysterious Dr Ruby. A series of twists take Vinod across the globe and in London, he finally uncovers the whole conspiracy.
