As devotees revel in the festivities of the ongoing Durgotsav, we asked some Bollywood divas to share one memorable experience from their lives when they had to make a tough decision. Here, they recall their special Goddess moment, ranging from gaining the strength to sail over personal and professional struggles to making the right choices in life.

“When I was in my teens and had no particular goal set for life, I got a film offer. But I wasn’t sure where would I end up as a professional if I chose films. But it was during one Durga Puja that I felt my Goddess moment - when Maa Durga gave me a strength to take up the offer. So in a way, I owe my acting career to her.”

Gul Panag
“My Durga moment would be when I ran my first marathon in 2008. It was a 21 km run. I was very nervous about whether I would be able to complete it or not. But I was very happy when I finally achieved the feat.”

“Maa Durga has always been there with me whenever I need her. The Goddess guided me whenever I was down, and helped me to make the right choices in life. I believe that if you pray with a clear conscience, your wishes do come true.”
