Veteran actor Reema Lagoo, who died on Thursday morning at Mumbai’s Kokilaben Hospital, was working in TV show Naamkaran, conceptualised by filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt. Though Viraf quit the show after it took a leap, he shared a close bond with Reema, who has a negative role in the show. While audiences loved watching her playing the doting mother in films, she was equally loved and accepted as an antagonist in the TV show.

In her Bollywood career spanning over almost four decades, Reema has been viewers’ favourite on-screen mom. She played mother to quite a few leading actors including Salman Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Mohnish Bahl, Madhuri Dixit, Sridevi among others, in movies such as Hum Aapke Hain Koun...!!, Hum Saath Saath Hain, Maine Pyar Kiya and many more.

The 59-year-old actor complained of chest pain on Wednesday and suffered a cardiac arrest on Thursday morning. Many Bollywood personalities, including Rishi Kapoor, Karan Johar, Akshay Kumar and Priyanka Chopra, tweeted their condolences.
