Prachi Desai to play Emraan Hashmi's wife in Azharuddin biopic

Actor Prachi Desai, who hasn't been seen in films for quite some time now, has been finalised for Rock On!! 2.

Actor Prachi Desai, who hasn't been seen in films for quite some time now, has been finalised for Rock On!! 2. The actor, who made her Bollywood debut with Rock On!! in 2008, will be seen reprising her role, the shooting of which will start soon. The film will also star Farhan Akhtar.

Naturally, Prachi is excited about the film. "It is really going to be a special project for Farhan and me, as it was our first film together," she says. Rock On!!, also saw Farhan making his acting and singing debut in Bollywood, and the two will once again be seen playing a couple in the sequel.

Desai, who was last seen in an item song in the 2014 hit Ek Villain, however, says that it wasn't a conscious decision to stay away from films. "It wasn't a conscious move. There were a couple of films, which I was supposed to do, but they didn't take off for various reasons," she says.

She will also be seen playing Md Azharuddin's first wife Naureen in the biopic that is being made on the former cricketer. The film, which stars Emraan Hashmi as Azharuddin, goes on floor soon. "We know about Azharuddin's life on field, but not much about Naureen. I'm getting to know a lot more about her from our director and writers," said Prachi.
