Priyanka Chopra, who recently visited South Africa to attend a Hindi film awards ceremony, got nostalgic as she had shot there for a couple of films early in her career.

“Priyanka got sentimental when she received the Best Actress award for her performance in Barfi! (2012). She was reminded of her early days in Bollywood,” says a source close to the actor. About a decade ago, the actor had a long stay in South Africa while shooting for her films Andaaz (2003) and Aitraaz (2004), so she was overwhelmed to be
honoured there. “I feel nostalgic returning to South Africa. I have lots of great memories associated with this place,” says Priyanka when contacted.

The trip also turned out to be a pleasant break for Priyanka who has been busy shuttling between the US and India of late. “This trip gave her time to unwind,” says the source.
The actor also performed at the awards ceremony. “She danced to ‘Ma Da Ladla’ from Dostana (2008) and a medley of her other hits from recent films,” says the source. She was accompanied by other Bollywood stars like Madhuri Dixit and Ranveer Singh.
