Ever since he played the role of the antagonist, Bhallaldeva, in the Baahubali film franchise, actor Rana Daggubati’s fan following has increased tremendously. The increasing popularity also means that there is a lot of speculation around him.
Does this constant public scrutiny ever bother him? “No,” he says, adding, “As long as it is positive, it is fine because then, I can use this to tell many different stories.”
The 33-year-old, who has been part of films such as The Ghazi Attack, Baby and Dum Maaro Dum, feels that a film as big as Baahubali is the best thing that can happen to an actor.
“When you are associated with a brand like Baahubali, which has put Indian cinema on international screens, it only affects you positively. The film is the beginning of many franchises, so as long as it is helping me tell more stories, which are interesting, I am very happy with people showing interest in me,” says the actor.
Talking about the immense fan following and love he gets everywhere, Rana adds, “It is lovely to have that kind of admiration for the work we do. I am happy that I am able to deliver good work to people. It’s a source of constant encouragement for every actor in the industry. When you get to know that your hard work is being appreciated by people, who you want to entertain, it only motivates you to do better”
