Salman Khan believes in tough love. Bollywood’s favourite godfather is all set to launch brother-in-law Aayush Sharma, sister Arpita Khan Sharma’s husband, in Loveratri but the path to make him Bollywood-ready was not so easy. Also, Salman wanted to do it his way, which comes with a generous dose of tough love.

Talking to Mid-Day, Aayush revealed that Salman has been training him for his Bollywood debut for years now. He told the tabloid, “One night, after the shoot of Bajrangi Bhaijaan, the stuntman, on Salman bhai’s request, taught me how to roll down sand dunes and perform some stunts. When Salman bhai and I were on the sand dunes the next day, he pushed me down without any warning. As I went down tossing and turning, I kept wondering what just happened.”

This happened many times and it was only then that Aayush realized that Salman wanted him to land properly, on his feet. “Salman bhai then told me that he wants me to be prepared at all times to perform my own stunts. He pointed out that it was essential to know how to land after a fall, so that I don’t hurt myself when a stunt goes awry.”

Loveratri revolves around the love story between the characters of Aayush and Warina. Debutant Abhiraj Minawala, who is a former assistant of Ali Abbas Zafar, is directing Loveratri. Shot in London and the outskirts of Gujarat, Loveratri is produced by Salman under the banner of Salman Khan Films. It is slated to release on October 5.
