Shamitabh BO report: With only 16.60 cr in 5 days, the baritone's lost its thunder
Amitabh Bachchan’s latest film Shamitabh has failed at the ticket window. The film, which also stars Dhanush and Akshara Haasan, earned a paltry Rs 16.60 crore in five days.

Shamitabh is the story of a mute actor Danish (Dhanush) from a small village in Maharashtra who dreams of becoming a big star in Bollywood. He seeks help from a failed actor Amitabh Sinha (Amitabh Bachchan) who has a great baritone. But, very soon, they engage in an ego battle which cost both of them dearly.
Shamitabh was Amitabh Bachchan’s third film with director R Balki. They had worked together earlier in Cheeni Kum and Paa.
