Sixteen producer angry with radio station

Film Sixteen, that talks about the joys and confusions of sixteen-year-olds in India has managed to get a U/A certificate from Censor Board but little did they know that a radio station would refuse to play a censored promo because of a line that they felt is obscene.

There a line in the promo where a character is reading newspaper and says 'most married men in India have sex thrice a week'. The radio station refused to carry the promo and requested to change it in the process.

Says Producer Shailesh R Singh, "What can one do? We had to change the line but let me tell you the character in the film is actually reading this line from a leading newspaper. I am also thankful to Censor Board for understanding the film's perspective and giving us a U/A. Even they thought that the film should be watched not only by teens and youngsters but their parents as well."

Sixteen, directed by Raj Purohit and produced by Shailesh R Singh and Vishwas Joshi, stars Keith Sequeira, Wamiqa Gabbi, Mehak Manwani, Highphill Mathews and Brazilian model Izabelle Leite in lead roles.
