The appearance, however, will not be for a film, but for a music video for the upcoming short-film collective, Bombay Talkies.

The filmmakers have shot a special song, featuring several leading Bollywood actors. Sonam and Anil are among the ones featured. Bombay Talkies has four short-film segments, each directed by Karan Johar, Zoya Akhtar, Dibakar Banerjee and Anurag Kashyap.

The video is expected to run either with the opening or the end credits. In it, the women will be dressed in golden costumes, while all the men will be in formal tuxedos. The song is choreographed by Vaibhavi Merchant.

Anil says, "I don't know how they (the makers) will present the video ultimately, but I don't think we will be together in any frame. We shot for the video separately. Later, we had a discussion on how quickly we wrapped up the shoot. I told Sonam that I finished in one hour, and she said she took two hours."

And why haven't they signed an acting assignment together yet?

Anil clarifies that "there have been quite a few offers, but there hasn't been any script that was substantially challenging for both of us. I hope when writers and directors read this, they come up good scripts that both of us can do.”

Recently, when Anil announced the Indian version of the popular American series, 24, there were rumours that Sonam would play his daughter on the small screen.

“There was a lot of speculation about Sonam acting in 24. That was never even a consideration, but the media went on about it.”
