Sonam Kapoor was asked if she loved Muslims, Pakistani followers. She answered like a boss
Sonam Kapoor answered questions on whether she loves Muslims, her Pakistani followers and her stand as supporter of gay rights. Here’s what she had to say.
Bollywood stars are often targeted by trolls online and it was the same story late Thursday when Sonam Kapoor decided to use the newly-introduced question-answer option on her Instagram stories. Not one to take hate lying down, the Veere Di Wedding star had the perfect answer for a communally-charged question.
One of the questions Sonam was asked was, “Do you love Muslims?” To this, she replied, “I love people of all faiths and beliefs. That is what Hinduism teaches me!”
She was also asked if she loves her “Pakistani followers” and she was more than happy to answer, “Love Pakistan and I’m dying to come out there and hang.”
Someone also called Sonam a “strong LGBTQ icon” and said, “You are such a string powerful LGBTQ icon. Where do you find the strength and courage?” Sonam graciously replied, “Telling the truth and standing by it doesn’t require strength, just conviction.”
She was also asked how she managed to always make people smile all the time and she responded, “I get inspired by everyone. And if you are happy then you radiate it.” And to prove her happiness, husband Anand Ahuja joined Sonam.
The new Instagram feature lets users post questions on “stories”, tap a response from someone and share it along with the answer to the question in their story, Instagram wrote in a blog post late Tuesday.
