The actor, who last played a prominent role in Juddai (1997) opposite Anil Kapoor, happens to be the only Indian female lead to have worked in as many as 264 films. With English Vinglish, Sridevi will add another film to her repetoire.

Confirming the news, the official spokesperson of the film says, “The makers are planning to do something special for Sridevi for her 265th film. They are working on organising a retrospective of her films.” The actor is best remembered for her roles in films like Chandni (1989), Chaal Baaz (1989), Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja (1993) and Khuda Gawah (1993).

Produced by filmmaker R Balki and directed by Gauri Shinde, English Vinglish revolves around a middle-class Indian housewife who becomes the butt of all jokes due to her ineptness with English. The film’s about her trip to the US, where she learns the language.

The cast is currently shooting for its second schedule in the US and the makers are planning to hold the event either once they are back or closer to the release, says the spokesperson.
