Vivek Oberoi’s PM Narendra Modi biopic will arrive in theatres on April 12.

Nine new looks of actor Vivek Oberoi, from the upcoming biopic on PM Narendra Modi, have been shared online, showing the actor in a variety of different costumes and makeup, and teasing the journey that the film will chart.

Sharing the images on Twitter, trade analyst Taran Adarsh wrote, “Vivek Anand Oberoi’s different looks in the biopic #PMNarendraModi... Directed by Omung Kumar... Produced by Sandip Ssingh, Suresh Oberoi and Anand Pandit... 12 April 2019 release.”

Several fans took to Twitter to react to the new pictures, with many of them pointing out that Vivek doesn’t look entirely convincing. “He is looking neither Oberoi nor Modi,” one person wrote. See more reactions here:

The collage shows Vivek in both youthful and older looks, sporting different hairdos for different phases in the PM’s life. “PM Narendra Modi the film will traverse the journey of Narendra Damodardas Modi from his humble beginnings to his years as Gujarat Chief Minister onto his landmark win at the 2014 election and finally being nominated as the Prime Minister of India,” director Kumar said in a statement. Kumar has previously helmed biopics such as Mary Kom and Sarbjit.

The film’s producer, Sandip Ssingh had previously said that “Vivek gave 15 look tests that needed 7-8 hours of make up each day. When an actor shows this dedication for the film, the filmmaker and the whole crew is extremely enthusiastic and encouraged to make the film.”

The Modi biopic also stars Boman Irani, Manoj Joshi, Prashant Narayanan, Zarina Wahab, Barkha Sengupta and Anjan Shrivastav. Another project - a web series - will be produced on the same subject.
