Vivek Oberoi’s tweet about Aishwarya Rai and Salman Khan slammed online, ‘disgusting, classless’, says Sonam Kapoor
Twitter has slammed actor Vivek Oberoi’s recent tweet, in which he made jokes at the expense of Salman Khan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and her husband, Abhishek. “Disgusting and classless,” wrote actor Sonam Kapoor in response to the tweet, which included a politically themed meme.
Sharing the ‘creative’ meme with due credit, Vivek wrote that there’s ‘no politics here, just life’. The attached picture collage contains three images; the first shows Aishwarya with ex-boyfriend Salman Khan, the second shows her with Vivek, whom she also dated, and the third shows her with Abhishek and their daughter, Aaradhya. The captions for each of the three images read, ‘opinion poll’, ‘exit poll’ and ‘result’, respectively.
Retweeting the post with a comment, journalist Nidhi Razdan wrote, “Distasteful. Move on Mr Oberoi.” Nidhi was perhaps alluding to Vivek’s controversial history with both Aishwarya and Salman. The actor in a now infamous press conference had alleged that he was being threatened by Salman, while he was dating Aishwarya.
Commenting on Nidhi’s tweet, Sonam wrote, “Disgusting and classless.” Others who’ve reacted to the tweet include shuttler Jwala Gutta, who wrote, “Extremely absurd of you to tweet this. Disappointing!”
Vivek in a recent interview had asked Salman rhetorically, “Do you believe in forgiveness?”
Vivek will return on screen this Friday, with his delayed biopic of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Aishwarya was recently seen at the Cannes Film Festival, where she makes annual appearances. Salman, meanwhile, is gearing up for the release of his Eid film, Bharat.
