Shah Rukh Khan and the Happy New Year team, including Deepika Padukone and Abhishek Bachchan, kickstarted the film's promotional tour in the US named SLAM - The Tour in style with performances in Houston, New Jersey and Washington DC in the first leg. Interestingly, the stars play a different role during each concert so that they are able to interact with the NRI Bollywood fans.

The Hindi film industry is constantly making inroads into foreign markets and thus this tour is termed as a creative marketing gimmick. Also, Shah Rukh Khan has a huge fan following overseas and the promoters of Happy New Year want to utilise this in their film’s favour.
