Kya Super Kool Hain Hum seems to have everything that could offend family audience. In fact, the makers are already prepared for bad reviews of the film. Don't believe us? Producer Ekta Kapoor tells us that she's planning to flaunt all the bad reviews in a big way.
Sounds believable, as Ekta is clear about her strategy for the film from day one - take a dig at yourself before people do, expect protests before they actually begin. The second trailer of the film takes off with people protesting about the content of the film and burning movie posters.
After Censors chopped three scenes from the theatrical trailer of Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum, Ekta Kapoor went ahead with the online launch of the second A-rated trailer of the film."I think censors have a lot of pressure. Audience is not homogeneous and we have to cater to various thought processses. I don't blame censors as they have a lot of pressure. But at the same time, we cannot be pushed back in our expression of thought and we hope censors understand that."
Ekta in fact thinks that online is the best medium to promote a movie as it targets younger generation. "Online is the biggest medium. We all know how big it can get for promotion. It caters to a young audience. Online is the best medium to check out every piece of information on the net. And I think this A-promo is fun, naughty and the fact that I went ahead with the online launch of the promo shows how much I believe in the medium."
Ekta Kapoor is kicked about the film's dialogues that have become a rage. "They have even made fun of me." She adds, "In one of the scenes, a character says, 'Main Tiger', another says 'Main Ekta' and the character goes on to add, 'Together, we are Ek Tha Tiger'."
But the lady was not at all amused by a dialogue that takes a dig at actors Nargis Fakhri and Diana Penty.
In a scene, actor Tusshar Kapoor tells Riteish Deshmukh that "Pehle ki heroines ke naam hote the Madhubala, Waheeda Rahman, aur ab dekho Penty, Fakhri" (Earlier heroines had names like Madhubala and Waheeda Rehman, but now see names are Penty, Fakhri).
"I'm trying to get the dialogue out of the film," says Ekta.
Kya Super Kool Hain Hum releases on July 27.
