According to a report in Times of India, the two actors met at the wedding reception of Mukesh Ambani’s son Akash and Shloka Mehta in Mumbai. Preity was accompanied by her husband Gene Goodenough. Incidentally, it was Gene’s birthday as well on that day.

Post the reception, the couple visited Salman’s Bandra home where a surprise awaited them. Salman had planned a surprise birthday party for Gene and the couple was obviously touched by the gesture.

Meanwhile, Akash and Shloka’s wedding saw a galaxy of stars descend at Jio World Centre, the venue of the marriage. Among the big names who attended the function were Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Karan Johar, Kareena Kapoor, Rajinikanth and Priyanka Chopra.

On the work front, Salman remains as busy as ever-- he is working on his next film Bharat, which stars Katrina Kaif as the female lead. The film is being directed by Ali Abbas Zafar. Bharat has been shot in Malta, Abu Dhabi and Punjab among other places.

Katrina joined the team of Bharat after Priyanka quit the project to prepare for her wedding to Nick Jonas last year.

Bharat is an official adaptation of a 2014 South Korean film Ode To My Father. Produced by Atul Agnihotri and T-Series, the film is set to hit theatres on Eid 2019.
