Recently, director duo Abbas- Mustan announced that they will be directing the Hindi version of the hit Tamil movie, Vettai (2012). The original, which was written and directed by N Linguswamy, starred south stars Arya and Madhavan. And for the remake, the director duo claimed to have roped in actors John Abraham and Abhishek Bachchan.

But when we asked John about this development, the actor says, “Yes, I have been offered the project, but I haven’t signed it yet.” Prod him further on the announcement made by Abbas-Mustan and he says, “Nothing contractual has happened at my end. I had promised Sanjay Gupta (director) that until Shootout At Wadala (SAW) releases on May 1, I will not look at any other film. So apart from my home productions, I haven’t begun work on any other project just yet.”

The shooting for the Vettai remake will begin only in 2014, so there’s plenty of time for the actor to decide. “The story is very catchy and whatever the developments will be, they will be known to all,” says John.
