recited by Farhan Akhtar in Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara? Well, good news, the actor recently confirmed that the poems written by dad Javed Akhtar will be part of the ZNMD CDs, soon to be released. The director-turned- actor also revealed that he turned to friends when coping with his parents’, Javed Akhtar and Honey Irani, divorce 25 years ago.

Explaining why male bonding are recurring themes in his films from Dil Chahta Hai (2001) to Rock On (’09) and Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara (’11), Farhan says, “I have always found this relationship of friends very beautiful. It made a lot of sense to me when Zoya told me that during our growing up years, friends played a very important part for us.”

The 37-year-old actor-director adds, “Given the fact that my parents were going through a divorce, friends became a huge part of our support system and eased a whole lot of pain.” Of course, Farhan has moved on since then, but his friends have stayed on.

"I had some amazing best friends in school and that is one relationship where you can just pick up from wherever you left off. Ritesh (Sidhwani) has been with me since school, and he understands me very well," he said.
