There has been a relative lacuna in books on the Capital’s modern architecture, until now. By documenting some of New Delhi’s most notable modern structures, such as the Sri Ram Centre, India International Centre and even relatively unknown gems like a private residence designed by MF Husain, the book throws a refreshing light on the city’s urban landscape. It talks of the vision of some of India’s greatest architects and reveals some architectural ‘firsts’ in Delhi. The Modern Architecture of New Delhi is an ode to some of the most pioneering architects of modern India as well as to the structures the city is most proud of. A must-read.
