At a dinner to mark the signing up of her upcoming book, Victoria & Abdul, with Rupa, author of Spy Princess Shrabani Basu boasted not so much about her considerable writing skills but how she makes a "mean jhaal muri".
Her book may be about Queen Victoria's 'affections' for her Indian servant Abdul Karim, but the London-based Basu knows that her Bengali street-cred will get us eating her words, if not jhaal muri, from her hand.
