William Dalrymple to Aamir Khan

:

"Someone was asking me what a Bollywood superstar is doing at a literary festival and I said he's here because he's a great reader."

Author Jaishree Misra to Ian McEwan:

"Hi, I'm Jaishree Misra and I'm probably your biggest fan."

Mita Kapur, literary agent:

"If you look around, you'll only see social butterflies from Delhi. It's a literary festival - where are the students?"

Mahaveer Sharma, managing trustee, Jaipur Virasat Foundation:

"Jaipurias are as good as Dilliwalas. The difference is that people here (in Jaipur) are late by only half an hour."

William Dalrymple on Fatima Bhutto:

"I felt she was very bright and though I haven't read any of her poetry, I have read her articles and I think she is."

A guard to some locals:

"

Nobel jeetne waale log hai, sab kuch likhtein hain aur yahaan aaye hain bhaashan deene

."
