With an effort to turn around Mocha’s countrywide image, franchise partner, Mocha, Ayush Singla, 27, says, “Chandigarh has an ideal lifestyle; to accustom the brand to the atmosphere here, I decided to take out the hooka culture from the brand name. I wanted to promote the bistro culture, so, we had to do away with the dingy and dark ambience, which is usually associated with Mocha. Most importantly, I wanted women to feel welcomed and safe at the café.”

The 12-year-old brand, which has 20 outlets in 13 cities, deals with the perception of being just another coffee shop. Clarifying the same, Ayush says, “Here, we have worked on our food menu as well by introducing sizzlers, thin crust pizzas and the must-try Kit Kat Shake. Regulars like Marinated Cottage Cheese, Hung Curd Marinated Pickled Chicken, Mustard Marinated Fish, Spicy Veggie Burgers are also a part of the menu. So are the pastas, thick shakes and desserts like Mt Brownie and That Chocolate Thing.”
