What I remember most from the trip to Mawsynram are the people. They might not understand a word in Hindi, they converse in broken English, but the Khasis are some of the warmest folks in the world! I had a ball shooting in the rainiest place on Earth, thanks to the friendly and cooperative locals who never said ‘no’ (not even to some very unreasonable requests) and my water-proof camera.
Where else would a labourer leave his work and stand under a waterfall on an unknown lensman’s request? So, I didn’t mind not getting any decent vegetarian food!
