Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Monday said that India should become a major investment hotspot and the government has taken steps in that direction.

Sitharaman said that the momentum will continue, and several more reform-related steps are being taken up. “The financial sector is being professionalised and the government will continue with a disinvestment agenda,” she added.

The finance minister was talking at the CII’s National MNCs’ Conference 2020.

Addressing the conference, Sitharaman praised the efforts of PM Modi and said, “Even at the time (of) Covid-19 pandemic, the Prime Minister has not lost an opportunity to take deep reforms, to undertake those kinds of reforms which have not seen the light of the day over the decades.”
