Idea Cellular Q4 profit up 18%

Idea Cellular has reported standalone revenues of Rs 2,862.6 crore, up 9.2 per cent for the quarter ending March 2009. Standalone profit for the quarter rose 18.3 per cent to Rs 303.2 crore. Annual revenues of Rs 9,962.2 crore grew 47.9 per cent on a year-on-year basis. Profits, though, were down by 6.41 per cent over the last year.

Profit for the quarter ending March 2009 of the consolidated company, including Idea Cellular, Spice Telecom and Indus, was up to 274 crore, up by a marginal 0.87 per cent.

Total Minutes on the Network, a measure of operational efficiency, were 4,422.4 crore, a quarterly growth of 9.9 per cent.
