Infosys rejigs portfolios after top levels exits

Following the exodus of top level executives, country's second largest software exporter Infosys on Friday restructured its business under two divisions that will be headed by B G Srinivas and U B Pravin Rao, possible contenders for the CEO's post after S D Shibulal retires.

In yet another major shake-up of its leadership structure, software services major Infosys has dismantled its executive council and appointed BG Srinivas and UB Pravin Rao as presidents reporting directly to CEO SD Shibulal. The move is seen as the company’s efforts to line up a successor to Shibulal, who is due to retire in 2015.

Infosys, which brought back co-founder NR Narayana Murthy as chairman, has seen a series of top -level exits including CEO-probables Ashok Vemuri and V Balakrishnan.

BG Srinivas is currently board member, besides being Infy’ European head, global head of financial services and insurance, and chairman of Infosys Lode–stone. Pravin Rao is senior vice-president, global head of retail, consumer-packaged goods, logistics and life sciences, and director of Infosys Leadership Institute.

Srinivas, who has been in the run for the top post, along with Vemuri and Balakrishnan who left the company within the last six months, will oversee financial services, insurance, manufacturing, engineering services, energy and communications, Infosys public services, Infosys Lodestone, strategic global sourcing, marketing and alliances.

Retail, consumer packaged goods and logistics, life sciences, utilities, services, growth markets, mobility, quality and productivity and Infosys Leadership Institute will report to Rao.
