Market: Retail investors more upbeat

Retail investor confidence is on the rise and higher than the confidence of advisors and corporates even as concerns around inflation continue to dampen sentiments, according to an Investment Confidence Index survey by JP Morgan Asset Management for April-June. HT reports.

Retail investor confidence is on the rise and higher than the confidence of advisors and corporates even as concerns around inflation continue to dampen sentiments, according to an Investment Confidence Index (ICI) survey by JP Morgan Asset Management for April-June.

The retail ICI ranks highest at 151.7, followed by the advisor confidence index at 135.4 and corporate confidence index at134. The ICI stands at 140.4 for June 2010, indicating a 3.3 per cent increase over the previous month.

The survey lists inflation as the biggest dent to investor confidence over the past two quarters.
