RBI asked to take steps to control inflation

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi said that the Centre and the RBI should take all steps to control the spiralling prices.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi on Wednesday asked the RBI governor YV Reddy to take measures to contain inflation.

"The Centre and the RBI should take all steps to control the spiralling prices," he told Reddy after meeting him at the Secretariat in Chennai.

Reddy explained the steps taken by the RBI to control the price rise and the present economic scenario prevailing in the country.

The chief minister also discussed measures adopted by his government to control the price rise in the state, an official press release said.
