Sensex gains over 200 pts in early trade, regains 13k level

The BSE-30 share index which had gained nearly 400 points in the past three trading sessions, shoots up by 202.16 points at 13,058.24 points within five minutes of trading.

The benchmark Sensex regained 13k level by gaining over 200 points in early trade on the Bombay Stock Exchange on Monday, on account of buying by funds and general investors in tandem with firming global markets.

The BSE-30 share index, Sensex, which had gained nearly 400 points in the past three trading sessions, shot up by 202.16 points at 13,058.24 points within five minutes of trading.

Similarly, on the wide-based National Stock Exchange Nifty again crossed 3,800 point to quote 56.75 points higher at 3,808.75.

Stock brokers said rally was led by banking sector stocks such as ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank and State Bank of India, lifting the Sensex notably higher.
