Sensex up by 58 points in early trade

Maintaining its upward trend, the Bombay Stock Exchange benchmark Sensex gathered another 58 points in early trading on sustained buying by funds as well as general investors ahead of the earning season.
The 30-share Sensex, which had shot up by over 720 points in the past four trading sessions, gained 58.46 points at 13,236.20 points in the first ten minutes of trading. However, it slipped to 13,149.49 at the outset.
Similarly, on the wide-based National Stock Exchange, Nifty rose by 12.20 points at 3,855.90.
Major support which lifted the Sensex came in from stocks such as ACC, Tata Steel, Tata Motors, Reliance Capital, Reliance energy, BHEL, Wipro and TCS.
Sesa Goa stocks traded heavily and shot up by nearly Rs 60 at Rs 1,775 on the back of favourable corporate reports.
