With an investment of Rs 2 crore, the centralised tech support centre would provide technical support for PCs, peripherals, POS terminals, mobile handsets and other ICT products, a press release by TVS Electronics said. "The centre also provides tech support to leading financial institutions in the merchant acquiring business," it said.

TVS-E's initiative comes at a time when the ICT industry is witnessing robust growth and the demand getting penetrated into the rural markets. This had substantially increased the demand for local language computing, it said.

"The call centre offers end-to-end solutions right from tech support to online customer relations management (CRM). This service will eventually be available in 12 Indian languages in a phased manner," said G Harikumar, General Manager, Business Development, TVS-E.

Gopal Srinivasan, Director, TVS-E, said the company would leverage the TVS quality culture to offer best in class tech support services to the clients. Chennai-based TVS-E is part of the USD two billion TVS Group.
