Chief judicial magistrate (CJM)-cum-secretary of district legal services authority, Rupnagar, Dr Gopal Arora inspected the district jail here on Tuesday. He interacted with the undertrials about their problems in the jail. Some undertrials complained that they were not given proper medical care and were not sent to hospital for treatment.

The CJM directed the superintendent to arrange adequate force so that the ailing undertrials could be sent to hospitals for treatment. He was also accompanied by counsels Mohit Dhuppar and Ajay Talwar appointed in the legal aid clinic in the Jail Sumit Pasricha.
They inspected all the barracks and visited the kitchen, legal aid clinic and hospital in the jail. They also inspected women barrack and expressed satisfaction over the condition there. During this visit a free legal aid camp was also organised and aid was provided to 10 inmates.
