Ashutosh case: HC adjourns hearing till Monday

The Punjab and Haryana high court on Thursday adjourned the hearing in Ashutosh last rites case till Monday.Two appeals were filed before the court.

The Punjab and Haryana high court on Thursday adjourned the hearing in Ashutosh last rites case till Monday.Two appeals were filed before the court. One by Nurmahal-based dera and other by Dalip kumar Jha who claims to be Ashutosh son .Justice Surya Kant adjourned the hearing of both the appeals.

Nurmahal -based dera, Divya Jyoti jagriti Sansthan (DJJS)had appealed challenging the December 1 order that courts were not aable to distinguish between a ‘naturally dead body’ and a body in samadhi (deep meditation).

While, Dalip kumar Jha, a native of Bihar who claims to be Ashutosh son has demanded his body.


Ashutosh’s body has been in a freezer since January after he was declared clinically dead by doctors.
