Auto driver, aide held for outraging modesty of woman

The local police have arrested auto driver and his aide for allegedly making an attempt to outrage modesty of a 22-year-old married woman on Friday. The police said the victim, who had been working in IT park, had hired an auto to her residence in Baltana.

The accused have been identified as Vinod Kumar, an auto driver and Anil, both residents of Manimjara.

The accused took the victim in a secluded place near Indra Colony and tried to outrage modesty of the victim. She raised alarm and a passerby rushed to her rescue. Eventually , the police was informed and the accused were arrested. Both the accused were under influence of liquor.

The accused were produced in the court and were sent to judicial custody.

A case of obscene acts and songs (294), word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman (509), assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty (354), assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty (354-A), kidnapping or abducting with intent secretly and wrongfully to confine person (365) and acts done by several persons under sections (34) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been registered in the Manimajra police station.
