
Badal allots additional land for Armed Forces institute
Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal here on Tuesday approved the allotment of additional land of 1.5 acres for the expansion of an armed forces preparatory institute (AFPI) in SAS Nagar.
A decision to this effect was taken by the CM after clearing the proposal mooted by the Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GMADA) during a meeting with housing and urban development secretary A Venuprasad, a spokesperson said.
Badal directed Venuprasad to immediately allot the land for creating additional infrastructure for the cadets undergoing training at the Maharaja Ranjit Singh Armed Forces Preparatory Institute.
GMADA had already allotted 8.44 acres for the existing infrastructure of the AFPI at Sector 77, SAS Nagar. Further, Badal also approved to allot six acres for setting up Mai Bhago Armed Forces Preparatory Institute for Girls in Sector 66.
