Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal has expressed shock over the tragic accident in which nine people were killed near Barnala on Saturday night. He announced ex gratia relief of Rs 1 lakh each for the kin of the deceased and free medical aid to the injured.

Nine people were killed and six injured after a mini tempo carrying devotees from Kotkapura to Kali Mata shrine in Patiala collided with a truck at Pakho Kenchian village in Barnala district.

He also shared his sympathies with the bereaved family members and prayed to the almighty to give them courage in this hour of crisis.
