CCET employees’ hunger strike enters third day

Chandigarh College of Engineering and Technology (CCET) employees union continued with their chain hunger strike on the third day. Employees union members, Gurpreet Singh, Ram Bahadur and Chandar pal sat on hunger strike on Friday.

Members from different unions affiliated with coordination committee of government workers and MC employees gathered at Rose Club, Sector 16 appealed to Punjab government and Shivraj V Patil to intervene and resolve the deadlock.

The employees are demanding a rehabilitation policy for the contractual employees of colleges. They have been protesting over this issue for a long period as they wished to be considered for the posts of permanent teachers.
